Temperature Sensor Question

I just installed a Gentex 177 rear view mirror min my truck and I put the Temperature Sensor in the Factory location just behind the grill and I was wondering if anyone had moved theirs.

 

The reason I am asking is because I was sitting in my truck this afternoon for around 20 minuets and the temperature went up from 75 to 101 due to the engine bay heat. Does this happen on all trucks that have the temperature sensor in the front?

Yes my truck says 120 when I first crank it up in the afternoon from sitting in the parking lot all day at work. After about 2 minutes of driving it cools off to the correct temp by what the bank I pass sign reads.

Yes, mine does it. No, I haven't moved it. Can't think of a better place that's going to get the same airflow. Besides, any other place is going to give a false reading when sitting just because of radiant heat and lack of air movement.
