4" Bds, Want A Little More

Recommended Posts

As the title says i have an 08 Sierra with the 4" BDS kit. I am lookin to get a little more lift in the front as the tires still rub a bit and the front is about 2.5" lower then the back. do I have any options or do I have to get a new lift lol. Thanks!

what tires are you currently running, and what are your fender measurements?

I'd go with a BL before removing the suspension lift. BUT, if you ever want to go higher, you'll have to.

Have you already trimmed plastic/metal? Depending on the angles, you could also try a small leveling kit (i'm talking like 1-2" max).

What about using the Rancho Quicklift or Bilstein setups to gain a little height up front?

1.5 or 3" body lift.

Or sell your 4" kit and get the 6".

:seeya:-stupid

Welcome back! You've been MIA for a while...

PS i fixed your post

The Rancho Quicklift and Bilsteins are no different than just putting on a leveling spacer in terms of effects on angles (on a stock truck). However, the BDS kit comes with 4" coil bodies... so if he replaced those with the 2" Quicklift or Bilstein, he'd be lowering the front 2".

I didnt know the BDS came with replacement struts...I was under the impression that they had spacers OR new struts, thus if using spacers and using BOTH the spacer and new strut (Rancho or Bilstein) together would end up being higher than just the BDS kit.

I was thinking why not replace the stuts if they hadnt been already, and only wanting a bit of lift this would accomplish both, and would be better than just using spacers, etc.

yeah the BDS comes with new coil bodies.

just letting the OP know that he'd be lowering his truck so the rancho and bilsteins aren't an option for his lift. thus, that's why he shouldn't look at them.

Can u add a rc 2" level kit at the lower a arm?.

Sure can. His cv angles should be completely flat right now, so a 1-2" leveling kit shouldn't hurt.

The moral to the story folks: Never go with a 4" suspension or 1.5" BL. Always go 6" or 3" the first time.

No way that dude with the BDS kit and the 1.5 inch BL is perfect Im adding 3" to fabtech with 1.5" leveling kit, shackle, and 1.5" BL

Thanks guys, sorry its been a while since I've been on here. I called BDS and they said they don't recomend a leveling kit with it but I could go ahead and do it. Only problem is the shop that did the lift doesn't want to put a leveling kit on with it but I think I could possibly convince them lol. Now i just just have to decide between the Rough Country or Zone, probably gonna put in a 2" block too to replace the 1.25" thats there now. Also thinking about some Toyo MT's too. Damn this thing is getting expensive, hahaha.

:dunno: huh?

sorry.. I reread that it was typed hastily the first time through.

2bseen has the denali with the Superlift on it and the 1.5" body lift on top of that. It looks perfect, can't even tell there is a body lift on the truck (and thats without trying to hide it).

You said only do 3" BL and I was simply trying to say that i disagree and was using 2bseen as an example. I myself would like to add 3 inches to my fabtech when i put the new tires on, however I dont plan to use the 3" BL. I am going to do the 1.5" BL and 1.5" leveling kit, and 1.5" rear lift shackle. This way i get a full 3" of lift over the fabtech without haveing to go to the 3" body lift.
