Just Installed Exhaust

well i just installed an flowmaster american thunder exhaust on my truck and i am very happy with it. the highway drone is barley even noticeable and it sounds great when accelerating... its not too loud and not to quiet. perfect for me. i think it looks great too. only other performance parts are a K&N and now this exhaust becuseue i can barley afford to fill my tanks on my vehicles.

ahh one more qusestion..... should i get an entire new filter box or whatever its called? i just have a k&n filter the box is stock..... i have been told no becasue the stocker flows really well, is this true?

i have the same system on my truck... well kinda do now... i put it on 3 years ago and the muffler rusted pretty bad and actuallt the right side output rusted and cracked right off other day. So now its barely hanging on there.. the right out side is just dumping under bed and the left side is still on... i have a new cherry bomb sitting in my garage ready to go on this weekend hopefully.

 

One thing i would suggest while that is still new, clean it off and spray it with a high temp paint. The factory finish is terrible!

 

 

 

 

I also have a k&n intake and love it... As of yesterday tho i got the granatelli mass air sensor installed and love it even more now! Now when the rpms are around the 4k+ range you can just feel the air being sucked in . Amazed me how a simple bolt on could add power!

Any hardware store will carry some rustolium paint for barbeques and stuff. That would be what you need.

that would work... but the grill / barbeque paint is usually a dull finish... I would recommend a engine enamel. Recently i got some for my engine cover that i sprayed and it dries to a nice shiny hard finish. Thats what i would use on the exhaust. And it withstands temps in the 1500 degree range i believe!
