To Add Rear Spacer Or Not To Add Rear Spacer. That Is The Question..

Hey guys,

I still have my rear spacers sitting here from a while ago when I did the fronts. It looked better after the fronts I never threw the rears on. Sometimes I think it would look better than now with another 1 1/2. My measurements are 39.5 and 40 right now. What do you guys think? Leave it or throw it on since its sitting here already or no and just do my 3 inch body lift like i had planned? Thanks

Depends what you do, and what you like.

I am sitting level and i prefer it like that 98% of the time. however, I do not like how i ride a massive wheelie when i load up quads and a trailer. Times like that i wish i had the rear blocks. So my question for you is, what do you use your truck for?

Plan on buying a cheap boat in the spring maybe, but for now just hunting equiptment in the bed. I think puting a higher block in back would help a few mpgs as well.

A few mpgs? I don't think so man. Don't add blocks to the back with hopes of better gas mileage....

Thought that was the whole reasoning behind the front always being lower? So i figured instead of a brick wall for the air flow now i would add lil rake back.

The cross sectional area has a bigger effect. By adding blocks to the back you're making the brick wall bigger.

The rake is so the truck sits level when loaded. If they didn't have rake from the factory GM would have to pony up for leveling systems or people would have issues towing.

I have the rear blocks in my truck. I prefer a slight bit of rake, just not as much as some trucks have stock. I didn't notice any difference with the rear blocks in when talking mpgs.....now when my 33s went on different story, but I was expecting that.

I added rear blocks to mine because I really hate the look of a sagging truck when hauling or towing. I would rather have a rake when empty and level when towing. But, some people have different opinions and would rather be level 95% of the time and deal with the squat when towing. Do what YOU thinks looks best. :dunno:

I agree completely. You used a 2" level kit in front? I have heard 2" rear blocks do the trick....
