and its great. its like daylight infront of the truck now and thats with the original bulbs. cant wait to do an upgrade to the lights and see just how bright that makes it. i think gm should have done this from factory. its very simple to do, took all of 15 minutes and that included finding heat shrink in my buddies garage.

Can you describe what you did? I'd be happy just having the fog lights come on when I crank the truck but the 6 Headlight mod sounds intriguing too.

Thanks!

yup 4 is the law so they wont have more than that. i call it 6 headlight because the drl's dont really produce any light but they come on too  i did the diode trick which was easy to do and literally took no more than 15 minutes. this is good for the 03 to 06 i believe truclks, the 07's and up have to do it a different way but this is how it was done on mine.

Is there a method to control how many lights are on?

Nothing worse than meeting or having someone follow you w/ their fog lights on when they aren't needed.

yup, with the low beams on i can have the fogs either on or off with the fog light switch, but when the high beams come on everything comes on like this :)

i dont really classify the drl's as lights lol. that bug deflector isnt bad but its faded bad and we cant shine it up. other than that it beats a bra and the truck has 59000 km on it and the windshield looks great on it still. no sandblasted look or anything. and it survives the car wash which is a big thing.

I had a Bugflector on mine that made for some weird wind noise at the edges of the windshield. That prompted me to return it.

mines completely quiet. even with the vent visors i get absolutely no wind noise what so ever. is there a way to bring out the shine this thing once had? its just dull looking like the sun took its tole on it.

Just color match it, it'll look good as no other then, I'm thinking about trying to do that with mine because I don't care for the look of mine. But I don't have any noises either. You could always try wax or polish, but I doubt it'll work for long. A new one is cheap, mine's still shiny and I've had it for 2 years.

the only issue with color matching it is that the stone chips will get at it pretty bad, if it was clear i could paint the inside and give it that forever shiney look. maybe ill just buy a new one next year.

The flutter noise at the edges of the windshield is a common problem, even without a bug shield. If you take a little weather stripping adhesive and lift up and apply a little under the rubber seal on both side of the windshield it will take care of the noise. Just don't get too much on so it comes back out on the windshield.
