Rear Ended Last Night

So I was rear ended (again) last night on the highway coming home from work. The good news is everyone is ok and my truck did not suffer any damage other than some plastic pieces. I don't know how that happened because the impact was hard! I was hit by an older Dodge Durango and she must have hit the hitch receiver on my truck because there is all kinds of paint on my hitch and a big hole in her bumper... The bumper on the Durango curled over the tire and it was not drive able. looking at my bumper from underneath it looks like the chrome piece on the drivers side is bent a little and the tab holding the plastic cover is broken off, shouldn't be bad right....

Anyway, this is the second time that I have been rearended in this truck and I am getting tired of replacing and repairing these freaking junk bumpers. I was thinking about taking any insurance money I get and upgrading the bumper to a solid steel or something. I was wondering if any one has done this on a 1500 and which you used.

I like the fabfours bumper, has anyone used this or recommend this? The problem is that eventually I would like to replace the front bumper to match but I would like something beefy but not over done for a 1500. I like the Ranch Hand bumpers but I am afraid they are too much for a 1500?

I'm interested in this too. The Fab Fours bumpers are really nice but have only seen them on 2500s. I want to change out the bumpers on my 1500 for something else as well.

That don't look too bad on a black truck.

That's the thing, I don't have a black truck, LOL It is tan but I like the way this looks anyway as it has a similar profile to the factory bumper.

I like the Fab Fours on the 1500 on their site but the truck is lifted (mine isn't, leveled but not lifted) so I am wondering what that looks like. There are some half shots of a truck in my color on one of the links above but it is hard to tell what it looks like without seeing the whole truck.

I like the fab4's

I would go with that if I was replacing mine

I have a Fab Fours Bumper and it is great. Best in my opinion and they are scary sturdy! I too was rear ended so I drove out to the company to buy mine and saved over 500 bucks. Great quality and a awesome staff. Link has some good pictures of my current setup but I had it on with just a level and it looked great.

I really like the Fab Fours too but I am really in love at the moment with that Buck Stop Bumper that JNP posted....

I will have to see what the insurance claim will be, originally I thought it wouldn't be that much but after talking to my repair shop those components on that stock bumper are rather pricey....
