GmPartsDirect.com Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Hello Everyone, it has been a while since we have been posting and we wanted to re-introduce GmPartsDirect.com to everyone. GmPartsDirect.com sells genuine GM parts near published dealer cost plus a percentage for a shipping and handling fee on OE genuine GM parts. Our prices are discounted for everyone on the website. We display our total cost, including shipping and handling in the shopping cart, we do not require our customer's to call to request a small discount off retail prices plus an undisclosed shipping cost. We leave no surprise to what charges may be charged on your credit card or PayPal account, what is displayed in the shopping cart is what you will be charged. We do not require you to contact us during business hours to place an order and request a discount off retail prices. Our prices are discounted 24 hours a day 7 days a week on our website. With our website being open 24/7 this allows you to place your order at your convenience and processed sooner for sooner shipment. To help ensure the best and most accurate information and customer service we correspond only by email. This allows us to offer the low prices listed on the website, as we do not have as much overhead and we pass the savings along to you our customer. With all correspondences via email, both us and you have an email trail and if the incorrect part number or information is supplied by our customer service team, we are able to retrieve the information and make the necessary adjustments to provide the highest customer service to you. If you find a lower delivered price at one of our competitors, please email us a screen shot and link to the delivered price and we will try to meet/beat our competitor's delivered price. We do not like being under sold!!! We have received some feed back on ways to improve our customer service and GmPartsDirect.com and thank you for all of the feed back. If you have any suggestions, concerns or questions, please feel free to email me at [email protected] and I will be glad to assist you further. Just one of the improvements that we have made to GmPartsDirect.com is our return policy. Our return policy use-to-be that all special order parts where not returnable. We have lightened up on this policy, we now look at a few different factors of returning a special order part, our sales history of the purchased part, part fitment (current year model vs. previous year models), etc. Our main concern is to assist you our customer to obtain the correct part. We do request that the part numbers being purchased, be verified with our customer service team via email to help ensure the part numbers are correct. We do not want any customer to order the incorrect part and have to reorder the part and delaying your vehicle being put back on the road. Our customer service team is always happy to assist you with any part number request, part number availability, or any other question that you may have ([email protected]) As always, thank you to everyone for the support of GmPartsDirect.com over the years. Thank you, Scott T. GmPartsDirect.com Manager http://www.gmpartsdirect.com
AustinZ71 Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Hi there, I mean no disrespect but aren't you guys the site that charges an arm and a leg for shipping? In a crunch, I ordered some parts a few months ago but was surprised at the shipping charges so I haven't been back since. Dan
rjworker Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Hi there, I mean no disrespect but aren't you guys the site that charges an arm and a leg for shipping? Dan Yes, it is true that the shipping charges that get applied do take out a pretty decent amount of the savings you get. But, with that said, you still do come out better off when using them for New OEM parts. I don't know if anyone else would agree with this or if there are other sites out there that can do better, but I have purchased some items and have been happy with the final price (even after shipping) and delivery.
fast86gn Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 I made a purchase and the shipping was crazy. I ordered gm lifters. Sorry, but never again.
fast86gn Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 I made a purchase and the shipping was crazy. I ordered gm lifters. Sorry, but never again. I printed the info and took it to my local dealer, they matched the price and no shipping !
txab Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 As with any purchase, look at the final total before submitting. Too expensive? Don't buy it. If they want to price their stuff the way they do and charge a higher shipping and handling charge that's their business. People keep buying from them, so some of their items are priced right including shipping. Compare prices.

The reason I went with GMPartsDirect.com is because I checked a lot of the places out for about 2 weeks. Comparing prices and shipping/handling. I must have went through about 50 different GM and OEM places online. Bottom line, GMPartsDirect.com was the best. In May I purchased the six inch oval steps, rear under seat storage, rear wheel well inserts, front hooks, hood protector and window vents. I paid $797.88 for the parts, saving hundreds over the dealership and other sites prices. Shipping for this one order was only $175.53. And it arrived in three separate deliveries. I paid $473.20 for the steps alone. Believe it or not, the steps now are only $455.00 with the GM price being $650.00. So the savings there alone would've paid for the shipping itself. That's just my story, and I know there are plenty out there - good and bad. But hey, that's what makes this site so great, we all give our opinions and assist each other where and when we can.

In a crunch, I ordered some parts a few months ago but was surprised at the shipping charges so I haven't been back since. Dan I made a purchase and the shipping was crazy. I ordered gm lifters. Sorry, but never again. The price of the parts listed on our website is our cost, our markup is the shipping and handling charges. Unlike some of our competitors, we do not hide our handling charges in the markup of the parts. We show our cost for the part (price of the part), the shipping and handling charge ("shipping" the freight amount to ship to you and "handling" our markup) on the website. The delivered order total is displayed in the shopping cart before entering any of your, we do not hide any of our prices. Please keep in mind to compare our delivered price (including shipping and handling) to our competitor's delivered price and if we are under sold by one of our competitors, please email us (at [email protected]) and we will try to meet/beat our competitor's delivered price, as we do not like being under sold. Please also keep in mind that the charge is not just shipping, but shipping and handling. mc7719 Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 And another downfall... you only ship to US addresses us Canadians are SOL
jwhjr Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Even with the shipping charges, I've always come out ahead through gmpartsdirect vs. the dealership or anywhere else. This could just be coincidence based on what I've ordered, but it's enough to keep me coming back.
