Right Signal Stays Solid Now. Help Please

So on my 1988 GMC 1500 my right signal used to work fine. Now it stays solid 90% of the time but even when it does work on the dash and blinks it doesn't show up on the front lights. Left signal works completely fine though.

 

What could this be?

hopefully this will fix it..... the very first thing i would do is check every bulb in that headlight and taillight. Even the ones that arent supposed to blink. then if i didnt see anything wrong with any i would buy some new ones and swap them all out. that should fix it..... if not then im no help and someone with more knowledge will chime in

Sounds like a bulb problem or a ground.

 

Ah okay well maybe this will be a bit better info.

 

When my lights aren't on it works but if i turn my lights on and try it, it stays solid...

 

Noticed that when it does work the inner bulb out of the two signal bulbs up front doesn't flash anymore. I'm guessing that's the bulb causing the problem?

yes that is probably it. if there is any issue with any of those bulbs it screws with that whole side

Hmmm well i just replaced the two front bulbs that were out and they both work now and it's still doing that.

 

Somethings iffy though. I turn on my lights and my right signal goes solid and my left signal blinks really quick.

 

I dunno what's wrong.

Those trucks did have problems with corrosion on the whole tail light assembly. I remember having problems with my '89 many years ago. I don't recall exactly what happened, but I think i replaced the tail lights, not just the lamps, and that fixed many problems.

Yeah cause my lights up front are all new and my tail lights are just completely wonky and have been causing so many problems . I think it's time to re wire the tail lights and buy some new Tail light assemblies.
