The Lifetime Channel

I love my wife (yup, even more than my '74 C-10 stepside) but when she gets engrossed in that Lifetime Channel on cable: AAAAAARRRRGGGGGHHHHHH The pain does not stop!!!

 

This time of year it is worse than usual since they have those revolting sentimental "chick gets new lease on life/now the family is no longer disfunctional+estranged from each other/she marries for love just in time for Christmas day" and or any combination of the above.

 

I just came in after hours of trying to figure out the problems in my instrument cluster on my '74 and yes, there it was on the TV, yet another one of those movies. Man, I was looking at the walls, counting the lights on the tree, trying to find something else to fix, anything to avoid watching that movie. If it was not so cold in the garage, i'd be back out there, trust me. I therefore decided to retreat to the computer room and compose this post.

 

(And no, I don't watch football, she does. I am usually outside trying to fix something and can't see wasting my time off from work by watching a bunch of millionaires chasing a ball.)

 

There, I vented. Anybody else?

The only cool thing Lifetime ever did was back in the 90's when they had Unsolved Mysteries with Robert Stack. I watched the hell out of that show when I was a kid.

 

 

 

I can't say much, because if I had cable I'd be woman-reppellant myself.

 

I'm finding every opportunity to watch cable I get, I end up stuck on TruTV. The one show I end up watching most of the time is "Smoking Gun presents: world's dumbest...."

I'd say that out of all the TV the wife watches, and all the TV I watch, only about 25% of it overlaps.

 

This is why we have about 5 TV's in the house. And why I have my man-cave/media room.

as for lifetime, i try my hardest to avoid it but if a woman wants to watch it with me i guess i'm stuck, i'm a sucker for the opposite sex

My fiance said to me the other week "We should start watching Christmas Movies to get in the spirit of Christmas". Thinking she meant classics like Grizwalds, It's a wonderful life, Christmas Story, Home Alone (maybe) I said "OKAY!" Come to find out when I get home from work that she spent the day filling up the DVR with all of these shitty B (if that) movies on Lifetime. I am a good sport so I made it through half of one before I asked her to spare my soul.....

oh my god i despise those life time movies. i dont know why my girlfriend obsesses over them, not to mention the acting is absolutley god awful. if i walk in and see life time movies on, i just immediatley turn around on go on to the computer and come on here

oprah makes me sick. all this men hating bullshit makes me sick. why are the parents always divoreced in the lifetime movies? its seeems to me like its always a single mom.
