It seems to me that one must have to be part of an "Exclusive Clique" on here to get any help or replies. I thought this would be the best place to inquire about fluids and capacities for my 01 HD because most of you seem to eat, sleep and dream GM. Apparently I was wrong or nobody knows the answer to my question(s), which I believe is highly unlikely. If its the screen name well that has no tie to the song...every name I came up with was taken or too close. Im an avid hunter and shooter so thats where the name kind of ties in. Im not whining or complaining...I'm bitching :( How many topics does there need to be on what kind of oil, synthetic or regular etc etc?. Everyone seems to jump on those bandwagons and beat them into the dirt but I can't even get an answer or even pointed in the right direction. For God sakes people just pick a quality oil and filter and keep it changed at regular intervals. Doesn't matter how good x brand oil works for Bob down the road...its how Bob drives and maintains his stuff. I know a guy who uses nothing but recycled oil and swears by it because he says that is what is used in many aircraft and his vehicles have close to 200,000 miles on them. Me, I wont use what he uses in a lawn mower. Is he right or wrong? Am I? Who knows. Oil and lubricants are just like anything else...everyone has their preference and reasons for such. As for those who have helped me, answered any posts that I have posted or pm'd me I just want to say Thank you

You should ask your question in the Heavy-Duty section. They know more about the common type axle in the 2500HD (14 bolt). The fluid is 75/90 and make sure there is no additive for a limited slip or it will mess up your G80.

Also number your questions out for us. Its hard to read long paragraphs.

Welcome to the forum!!! Hope you find the answers your looking for.

I agree how its hard to read long paragraphs.

The the topic starter:

I find that posting in the "Full-Size" section gets more replies than posting in this section.

Case in point I made a brake and rotors thread and got some replies and once it was moved to here, replies have dried up!

Also sometimes people just don't plain ol' answer! No point in getting bent out of shape on it, it definatly won't help your cause.

Yeah alot of people have thier 2 cents when it comes to brands/synthetics/conventional.

I have gained alot of knowledge on this site, and I'm sure you will too! Welcome! :(

I'm not part of any "exclusive clique". But, I usually try to give my 2 cents when I feel like it, .............and the question kinda interests me. Lift kits and whatnot do not. Electronics do. Me, I use synthetic valvoline and a purolator filter. I don't jump on anybody about there preferences ........except when I see someone is using a FRAM!!!!!!

Yep, you must be a part of the very exclusive clique of owners that read deeper into the owner's manual...

Thanks for the welcome. Sorry if I got a lil bent out of shape. I was going to post in the "Heavy Duty" section but I have read threads on there that people have said should have been moved or posted on this section so that is what I did. Maybe I should have posted them there. I was in need of info ASAP and was hoping to get it here...which I eventually did. Sorry if I offended anyone...just hard sometimes to get good help these days.
