Hid Fog Light Hook Up

'10 Silverado 1500 LT....Trying to do a clean install of the HID kit I got from DDM Tuning. H16 replaces the fog lights no problems there, in fact it's a real nice kit.

The problem I have is connecting to the harness plug. The kit leaves two crimped pins that DDM suggest that I file down to fit the PT2309 female plug and use electrical tape to seal it up. I was wondering how others have addressed the problem? A male mate for the PT2390 plug? IF so what did you use? How about an adapter from the PT2390 to H10 as that will plug directly into the ballast?

What I have been doing is cut the two male connectors off the HID bulb(or wires coming from ballast) and use wire splices to tap into the factory wires behind the harness. Cleanest way so far.

I have found that this is a common problem not only with trucks but GM in general as they are becoming standard across lines in their fog lights. Now before anyone wants to howl about how F:q up GM is, they are used in late model Mustangs as well.

My solution is to get a couple 9005/H10 pigtails to replace the ones on the harness now and butt splice them in. H10 will plug into the ballast I'm using.

I can leave enough on the 5202/H16 plug to replace them if I chose down the road.

yes i cut the pins off of the harness they give you and soldered them in blue to purple black to black just stripped the wire back a little about 2 inches up from the factory plug i put alot of dielectric grease in the factory plug to stop corrosion if i ever want to switch back

i had to do the same thing. Just filled mine down and taped em up. I searched forever for the female end but i don't think they are common enough yet.

I'm bringing this post back to life. It's been a year so has there been any new products that have come out this year that would solve this problem?

I have ordered a cheap set of LED 5202 lamps and plan to cannibalize them to make a socket for the HID kit. I'm anxious to see if it works. Not too thrilled about a buying a $50+ set of pigtails or splicing my factory harness.

link??

Just do a search on 5202 lamp and you will see a bunch of them. To get the cheap price you have to order from Asia seller and wait - like I am. I don't know if it will work out since I have not received them yet.
