New 2011 Silverado

Merry Christmas folks! I hope everyone is having a great time with their families/friends today. I haven't posted on the forums for quite some time (been lurking for a long time tho) but after truck shopping for the last 6 months or so I finally decided on my new 2011 Silverado. I actually picked it up a couple weeks ago but I am familiar with the pics or ban rule here so I wanted to wait until I had some decent pics to post  . I've had several trucks since my '06 Yukon Denali (all Fords) and while I wouldn't consider myself a Ford fanboy, I did like them all. At the end of the day, this truck made the most sense and with the rebates and 0% financing I couldn't say no.

Already added the GM 6" step bars and an Airaid intake tube. I know there are mixed feelings about the intake tube actually adding any extra power, but for me I think it cleans up the engine compartment nicely and I enjoy the little extra noise when stepping on the throttle. In the next couple weeks I'm planning on some new wheels/tires and a RC 2" leveling kit. I swore up and down that I wouldn't buy a Silverado with these 20" wheels because I think they look cheap (no offense to those who have/like them, just my own personal taste), and I still feel that way for the most part although they have grown on me slightly over the past couple weeks. But, after browsing through several threads here I've found some new wheels that I really like so hopefully I'll be able to sell these stockers and recoup a little of the cost.

So far, with a tick under 300 miles the truck has been great. I have a feeling the dealer filled it with regular before delivery so I've been trying to burn that up as quickly as possible and refill with premium. My avg. MPG so far is 12 according to the DIC, but my drives have been fairly short and I didn't buy it to worry about fuel mileage. I've got a couple questions for various members that have similar mods to what I'm planning, but I'll post them in the appropriate thread.

Without further ado, the pics...

Thanks. Yep, that Tahoe belongs to my mom. It's an '08 with ~52k miles. I actually just had to replace the driver's side lock actuator about two months ago. Fortunately GM-Trucks saved the day. I found tons on info on the issue and a nice write-up on replacing the actuator.

Here's a couple Camaro pics. I ordered it during the early order period and it was built in May '09 (#8504) and delivered to my selling dealer in Michigan in June. Had it shipped via enclosed carrier to Washington in July. I loved it, but it was a play car only and I only drove it on nice days. Only put 1900 miles on it in a year and a half, and since I missed having a truck I decided to go ahead and trade it in. Definitely lots of fun tho!

Thanks everyone for the compliments!

Ozzie

Yep, since December 2007. I was there for all the "panic du jour's" as Scott Settlemire referred to them, from the initial quality control shipping delay, to the weights on the brake calipers, the failures of some output shafts, and the inability of some ECM's not being able to switch from low octane to high octane tables, resulting in the "fuse pull mod." Lots of great info, and it was especially fun in the couple months leading up to the start of production, everyone was so excited. When the Z28 is released for 2012, I may just have to get a second job

You two need to stop- I drove a new Camaro this summer and toyed all summer with getting one of those instead of a pickup this summer. But the thought of having to park it for winter is too much- I don't want 2 vehicles. But these pics aren't helping any!

The one I had was a bright yellow base model rental from Hertz and even that 6 screams- getting looks from everyone ranging from little kids to older folks at stoplights was fun too. :sigh:

nice truck congrats. that color is extremely sweet.. love the 6.2 choice and as for the Camaro? check this one out.. Silver's definately the fastest lol..

forgive the horrible music, it dies down. btw that's a stock 6spd auto stock converter and the slip at the end is it trying to shift into 5th (which the tuner didn't tune for, luckily it's his car lol)

Congratulations on the new truck! It looks great! We do need some interior shots though.

Merry Christmas to you and your family by the way.
