10' 2500hd 6.0, Loudest Exhaust?

Hey guys,

Quick question, I am looking at putting some exhaust on my 10' 2500HD 6.0, however I am at a loss of where to start looking, can't find much on youtube either. I -thought- about going true duals w/ hpipe but some have said the 6.0's sound like utter crap with straight pipes.

So any suggestions I am open to, I want that loud V8 sound, but none of that raspy nonsense. I would like a good rumble at idle as well, if at all possible.

Thanks for the help.

6.0L sounds like crap with true duals??who said this a ford guy?I personally think the 6.0s souund great with jusst 40 series let alone straights.Straights pipes are on the raspy side when i say straights i mean 2 manis 2 pipes straight back no cat or mufflers.but if you were to just do a muffler delete it would sound pretty bad ass.

Run a H-pipe and 2 flowmaster 10 series race mufflers with 18'' tips. Loud!! I had just one Flowmaster 10 series on my Silverado and it was loud but sounded good at the same time. Dual mufflers would sound even better imo.

im a fan of mbrp turbo back. id go with 5" exhaust but thats me haha if that would fit under there

Why would you put a 5" exhaust on a gasser? Just seems stupid, probably even hurt performance. 5" is not even recommended for most diesel under 500HP.

Haha not a ford guy, oddly enough it was from another gm forum. I thought about straights, but keeping the cats, deleting the muffler and adding and H-pipe. Do you think I could get a strong V8 sound, without sounding TOO raspy?

On another note, my 10' has an overly restrictive muffler, I mean it's a honker, I know the exhaust comes two pipes from the motor and into the single which leads through the cat then to the muffler, would keeping the stock setup, minus the muffler make a loud exhaust sound?

Appreciate all the responses guys.

If you truly want loud, go with long tube headers, high-flo cats, true duals into flowmaster 10 series or super 44's. That will give you a nice rumble without sounding crappy like straights. (personaly i think straights just sound like you have a bad exhaust leak somewhere. haha)

I've only got a 5.3L but there is no muffler on my truck, but I did keep the resonators, cats (of course), and the y-pipe and exited out before pass rear wheel, clip in my signature.

Watched your clip and yes, it does sound very good if you leave the cats and resonators. I was refering to dumping everything and bypassing the O2 sensors(with the cat delete). I like your little hustle to get around the truck though :D
