my old mans 1500 just went into the shop monday after about 3 or 4 months of transmission whinning, only in gear, not in neutral or park. Dealer said its the converter and the pump???? Now he's no johnny hard ass being 56 years old, might as well call it pap driven, (which is probably the problem lol) but anyone else hear of this, have a reason or any input at all? Its a warrantied fix so it makes no differeence to him but seems shady to me.

I've not heard about torque converter problems, but parts break nothing unusual about. Last month someones rear axle broke leaving there tire passing them and them wreaking.

which transmission?

regardless, it's a mechanical parts, sometimes there are defects. Generally, GM has not had issues with torque converters, they usually way outlast the transmissions.

yeah...that was me with the tire going by as the rest of the truck was a wreck :troll: Love the 2010 Silverado though :sigh:

Haha bad things happen and we get through them. No matter ALL the bad talk about the GMT900 lately you still won't see me driving a Dodge, Ford, Toyota, or Nissian full-size truck. :troll:

Hm. it was supposed to be done this past wed now they said they have to wait until a "special" tool arrives to complete the job. How nice.

I will ALWAYS own gm trucks.

I own a ford but it lives in the woods,

Never would buy a dodge unless it was a gen 2 cummins for a straight garage/parts getting beater.
