Not sure if it makes a differance but I put a Volant CAI on my '09 w/ 5.3 and ended up loosing some MPG and power. I went to get the in person black bear tune in PIT in Nov and Justin knew it was a Volant without asking or looking the first time I got on the gas for him. He said that the Volant was causing the injectors to be just dumping fuel into the engine. But through the tune he fixed that and with no doubt I felt the performance gain and noticed my MPG's go up with AFM off. Maybe you have something similar going on. If you want a tune go with BB you will be happy.

If you'd quit driving like I do, you'd see a drastic increase in MPG. But you wouldn't have a dang bit of fun!

I seen about a 1 mpg lose in mpg after installing my airraid MIT. I attribute this to driving style and also right when I installed it winter hit (winter gas), I also seen the same decrease in my Tahoe without it so I believe it will go back to normal once it warms up again
