Replacing Cv Shafts

Recommended Posts

Posted

I am going to be replacing my CV Axle Shafts on my 2000 GMC and was wondering if any of you guys have done this before? I am looking at my Haynes Manual and it doesn't look that difficult but it always looks easy in the manuals. :smash:

Any advice/help would be appreciated.

Thanks

It's really simple, just take the 6 flange bolts out that connect the cv to the front axle. Then take the wheel off and take the factory dust cover out of the middle where you can see the nut loosen it and knock it out with a hammer. Reverse for installation.
