Groaning While Going Straight

I just got through reading the hub bearing thread and I thought my problem would be similar, but reading I think its different. I am getting the groan while braking, or occasionally while coasting, there is a very slight!!!! vibration and i mean slight, most people would not even feel it, but I can feel it in the floorboard ever so slightly. It happens when first applying the brake. I am usually driving straight.; and I recently thought I saw plenty of pad left but I am not sure anymore. 05 Z-71 4x4 and thoughts? maybe a CV, hope not though. And it just started over the last couple of days

I'd have to say that you probably have a rotor(s) starting to warp. Mine starting out the same as yours, then got progressively worse until the truck seemed to shake itself near to death trying to stop the truck. If it happens only when braking that's what I would check out. I had plenty of pad left as well. I had them turned but that only bought another 15k miles or so. If they are warped just replace them with better parts. If you do a search for rotors warping you'll find all kinds of recommendations on parts.

I was getting a vibration / pulsation from mine for a while now... seems like it would come and go. Well yesterday i took it in and my shop found that my calipers were seized / frozen up.. pins were practically welded in with heat. Luckily they were able to get calipers working again, but my powerslot rotors and hawk ceramic pads were toast.. Had them on for about 2 years give or take..

Shop Hooked me up with a great price and i got great parts put back on properly! I feel as i finally can trust a shop again..

Rotors are Wagner Ultra premium-

pads- Adaptive One Premium

And had to get the caliper kit to rebuild them.

They also had to Clean and adjust rear brakes.

got it all done for $547 + tax

Everything that im reading about adaptive one is great. They were pricey pads, but they stop awesome and are whisper quiet.

Props to Manko's automotive in West Seneca NY

Well figured out the problem. The rear most universal joint was completely seized. which caused when I let off the gas or applied the brake at a higher speed, the drivetrain actually shifts foward a bit putting stress on the siezed parts, creating the noise. the dealer spent like 3 hours searching for the problem, 2 test drives and a bunch of time on the lift. But all fixed now and the truck is back to being truck quiet. I do have to do brakes and I will do those in the spring
