yeah 03 was the first year of the SS. i think its got special shocks and i know its lowered in the rear..... but im pretty sure its just another 6.0 in a 1500 nothing special, they just look awesome.

 

the Trailblazer SS is probably a lot faster then the silvy SS, i mean the TBSS is a small suv with a 6.0

 

 

if traction wasnt an issue, which silvy SS would be faster, the RWD or AWD?

 

my RWD TBSS ran 13.49 @102 bone stock with about 800 miles on it. it also ran 13.50, .51, .53, .55, .56 the same day. An AWD TBSS ran with me he went 13.77 and then a bunch of 13.9's so to answer the question about which is faster between an AWD and RWD vehicle when traction is not an issue, it's simple. less weight and and reduced friction, rotating mass etc, 2WD only wins every time.

They handle very similarly, but the AWD which I have slips a lot less (obviously). TBSS usually don't run 13's stock, they must have had great DA that day at the track. Usually they run 14.0-14.5 stock. Doesn't take much to get one into the 13's though.

Even my '09 HHR SS is turbocharged....surprisingly quick and fun car to drive!

Def beat one at the drags with a 5.3 reg cab chevy truck. There was 2 of em and from what i understand is that the motor is the same as the gm performance 6.0 they sell just without a comp tune. Chevy tuned it down I guess for "mpg" and emissions? No idea why but the 2nd one i raced blew my doors off by 4-5 truck lengths and he had the same addons i have now.

The difference between the truck engines and car engines is next to nothing. Had it just been a tuned RWD SSS it would've had no problem dragging you down the road

SS's aren't that fast stock. With a turbo or blower. Different story.

Stock they are just 345 HP 380 tq. All wheel drives have 4.10's and starting in 05 when they made rear wheel droves they had 3.73's

I know the power because I have that engine in my truck. And I have asked questions on silveradoss.com about it before I had the swap done. They all seem to think I need 3.73's or 4.10's.
