Cloth Interior Differences Between 07-10 Sierra/silverado

Hello all,

I am shopping for a 2007-2010 Silverado 1500 Crew Cab LT or a GMC Sierra Crew Cab SL/SLE.

I have seen the GMC ebony cloth interior in person on a 2011 and I really like it. I'm wondering if this is the same cloth found in the '07-'10 Sierras/Silverados. There aren't many in my area to view in person. Thanks in advance.

The '07, '08 and some '09s have a t-shirt type of material. They switched this up a little during the '09 run and replaced the middle section of the seat with a heavier type of material to help with a lint issue, they also changed the backing on the material. I think the '10s are when they started using the heavier type of material for the whole seat as the last change only slightly helped with the lint issue. My '08 has the '09 half and half covers as my dealership offered to replace them when they saw how bad the lint was.

It depends on if the previous owner had the newer seat covers installed for the lint issue under the TSB.

All the 2010-up trucks have the newer style seat covers,'07-'09 did not unless they were changed out.

Ahh...makes sense. I have been reading about the lint issue. Thank you both for your help. Guess I'll have to keep a close eye on the material, because the 2010 + is what I prefer.

On a side note, is there a way to change the default thread view? I want to see the replies listed down the page instead of having to click on links at the bottom and having to hit the back button a million times to get back to the start.

Wasn't the TSB only for ebony seats? I have covers on mine, but don't recall a TSB for the gray.

Yes,But he was referring to Ebony anyway so it made no difference.

I have a 2010 Silverado rcsb with ebony cloth interior. My truck was built in Feb. 2010 and the interior SUCKED!!! It was the worst I have had in my life. I got tired of dealing with it and ordered the Wet Okole seat covers from California. They are definitely top of the line for quality and fit. They look like the seats with colored middle section. They are the best kept secret in the nation when it comes to eliminating lint problems with inferior factory material.

The Ebony seats on my 2011 are the worst seats I have ever had. If I had known they would suck up so much lint and hair I probably would have bought something else. I`m going to save up for leather seat covers...
