Ok finally i found some 80W-90 fluid (valvoline  )

Just wanted to know when i open the drain/fill plugs (take em off) will the oil basically pour out?  Or will i have to pump some of the excess out?

Thanks (oh yea i bought 3 qts)  Ill be changing it next friday (25th)

It will just flow out like when you change your motor oil.  I didn't pump out anything.  I pulled the fill plug, then pulled the drain plug, let it drain while I did something else, cleaned it up, reinstalled the drain plug, filled her up, reinstalled teh fill plug, and wiped any excess fluid off the diff.

You probably know, take the skid plate off for easy access.

When Rob helped me out with mine, he believed that the front would drain through the hole in the plate...needless to say we found out otherwise.  I didn't have to pump any fluid out either.

I would pull the fill plug before the drain plug.  This will allow a good flow of fluid out the drain plug.  This will maybe even flow fast enough to pull out any other residue on the bottom.

Always pull the fill plug first.  You do not want to find out the fill plug is frozen once you have all of the gear lube out...

Don't know how fast the fluid would flow at temps in the 30's but I don't imagine it would be very fast so I 'd try to do the change during the warmest time of the day. Or if that's not possible, drive in 4WD for about ?? minutes just before changing the fluid. I've never had to do this, so don't know how warm/hot the fluid will get -- just be careful you don't burn yourself.

Good luck.
