Vacuum Ports?

Im thinking about installing a Transmission Temp guage on the A pillar of my truck because it would be cheaper than upgrading the cluster and havinga reprogram.

 

However, I dont like the look of just one guage on the A pillar so Im also going to install a vacuum guage. Well, it a vac/boost guage. The vac side tells you alot about your intake system including seals and valves. Plus it may help change my driving habits and save me a few dollars on fuel. The boost side just lets me tell people I have a turbo.

 

Whats another guage that I could install that will be somewhat inexpensive, but will give me some sort of usefull information? Im looking for something that isnt displayed on my dash cluster, and doesnt require tapping into any fluids. I looked into a fuel/air meter, but they are too expensive. Im thinking something around $75 max.

I added one to my S10 and I liked it, but installing it on the s10 was easy. Most of the systems on the S10 were vacuum opperated, so I just tapped into a vac line for the 4wd system.

 

So, I need to know where the best place for installing a vacuum line. Is there a port on the intake somewhere?

Exactly, the last time I saw cows, I didn't see an intake on one, so I don't understand why you thought that.

On the old vacuum pipelines you couldhook the line up to a tractor intake manifold vaccum port to milk if the power was out.

Diesels don't pull a vacuum. So that must have a been a LONG time ago.

Diesel tractors are different than trucks though. I think its a different fuel delivery systems. On older model tractors anyway.

It hassnt been that long. Only about 40 years. I know a LOT of people that still run the old gas tractors.
