my bulbs bruned up the sockets. i went to pull the bulbs to change them and they broke. they were brittle. i need part numbers and a how to for changing them

Parts stores carry them. You can even look them up on Rockauto. Simple to change

do i have to splice or solder

splicing would be easiest, use the connector youre most comfortable with. i know my pepboys, autozone, and o'reillys all have them
