Rear Camera Head Scratcher......

I own a 2007 Denali and a few weeks ago had to replace the battery again.... it took forever to boost. Took it to the dealer replaced battery and all is good.

Hear is the Head Scratcher....

When I leave the dealer and go to make a turn and turn my signal on, the Camera comes on and off with the signal. Also if I brake it comes on.... Dealer says they have never heard of that before? I have it turned off and all is fine, but I miss the camera, and trailering season is comming.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

is this the factory camera? Or aftermarket? If aftermarket I will guess you are powering it via the trailer connector and it sounds like you have a short in the trailer wiring

It is for sure a wiring problem, the cam turns on when the head unit gets a signal the car is in reverse, often tied into the reverse lights so what you are say it seems the connection may be linked to any light. There was a thread a few weeks ago with the same problem http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=128347 maybe shoot him a pm and see

It is a Factory install..... Thanks Super for the link I will check it out........ I plan to rip the unit out and check all conections, but I think I shorted something out when battery went dead and it had to boost it. I will let ya know if I find the cause.

Did you use the remote posts or just hook it to the battery when you boosted it? Just hooking it to the battery sometimes causes problems.

Sometimes the BCM gets confused and needs to be rebooted. You could try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes. Reconnect it and see if that solves your problem.
