Corsa With 6.2l

Looking for some opinions on the Corsa Cat-back Exhaust System with the 6.2L. I know its pricey compared to other cat-backs, the question is it worth the extra cost? How does Corsa compare to Magnaflow? Appreciate any feedback.

I think you know how I feel about CORSA,I've had one on my last three trucks, and I got one on my new Camaro as well!

I wouldn't use anything but!

Corsa makes a quality product, no doubt... I thought about purchasing one for my 2010 GMC w/ the 6.2, but after looking at the Corsa website & reading the posts on this site & others, apparently the stock exhaust system flows VERY well on these trucks. If you are looking for a performance gain, it will be minimal (like 7-9 hp ) with the Corsa & those gains are up high in the rpm range. If you want better sound & stainless steel, then by all means buy the Corsa (or Magnaflow ), but don't buy them expecting any performance gains

I have both on and quality wise, they are comparable. Corsa although had ZERO drone compared to the magnaflow having a little. So based on that, Corsa is the better exhaust if you don't want drone. Both have a very different sound, and sound is a personal choice.

Why don't you get one, and report back. That way I'll know what to get when I'm ready

I have been considering a Corsa DB exhaust. It is the same price point as Magnaflow and the muffler is identical to the one used in the Corsa Sport system. The difference is the stainless steel used in the pipes is a lower grade so it only comes with a 10 year warranty. The stainless used for the muffler is the same as the Corsa Sport. If I recall, I priced the Corsa DB at just over $700 installed vs over $1000 with install on the Corsa Sport. Corsa created the DB line specifically to compete with Magnaflow and other lower priced brands.

I have the DB system on my 5.3. I am not very happy with it. The pipe from the cat does not have the braided part which i believe sends more vibration into the cab and its is noticeably louder to me in the cab. Quality was good though.

On my 6.2 i thought about the Corsa as i have only heard good things about them, but i choice to save money and since the stock exhaust on the 6.2 is already very good i chose to leave it alone(well i guess i did take off the resonator). Plus i love how the stock exhaust exits out the back, i believe the corsa exits out the side. I stock exhaust is perfect for me.

Got the muffler cut off my 6.2 and put a 3.5" stainless pipe in its place. Sounds awesome at idle and when you get on it. Pretty quit when cruising and no drone that i hear. All for the price of about $30 and some labor. But when you have fun doing it, the labor doesn't cost but a six pack. Debating on whether or not to cut off the resonator. The way it is now, it is a little quiter than my 5.3 was IMO. Had a straight pipe in the 5.3 that was just a little bit bigger in diameter as the exhaust was also. Anyone have the resonator deleted on theirs?

Any chance of a sound clip?

What did taking off the resonator do? Louder? more drone in the cab?

No Drone, It's a little louder at idle, but not crazy, and a little louder at at throttle but still ptetty mild.(compared to aftermarket)

I will chime in here since I am in the same boat.

I found the Corsa sport system for my 2011 for the low low price of 950 shipped to my door....

I have since decided against the huge price tag and have been content with the stock system.

I did buy a Spintech 9000 series muffler that I have sitting in my garage waiting to go in.

I am having a hard time deciding if i really want to hack up the stock exhaust and weld in the spintech.

My plan was to leave the stock resonator on the truck and just run with the spintech. however I am now thinking of doing an electric cutout instead so that I can make it quiet on long trips. Its a very difficult decision, but I will not be throwing down nearly 1000 bucks for the Corsa with the very limited performance gain they are claiming. I talked to the Corsa rep on the phone and he admitted the flow was only marginally better and the performance numbers were basically not there.

just my .02

Does the Corsa have a nice loud sound at idle and when you walk on it compared to stock? I had Magnaflow on my '07 Vmax and I just loved the sound of the nice deep rumble. However Magnaflow tends to be quieter than other aftermarket cat-backs. I know no of them provide extreme gains unless combined with intake and chip. Then there's going from a 3.5" system down to a 3.0" system.

Thanks for the feed back.

I have the B&B triflow on mine and it sounds great. Very nice sound with no drone at all.

Magnaflow don't make a cat-back for the 6.2L yet. They have one in the works, but from there site its pretty close to the same as the stock system. I would love to have the Magnaflow side exit before the rear tire. I love that setup.
