Dropped Tranny

Well it happened :angry: I was getting out into traffic and got into my baby real hard and when she grabbed 2nd gear I heard it break. At least I got into the parking lot at work and had only 1st gear left. No reverse, no 2nd. The saddest day of my life was standing out in the rain watching the wrecker drive off with my gal. The guys at Aamco call to tell me she arrived safely. Then they called to let me know what I already knew, it was not electronic. On the 3rd.call they told me that it was going to cost $1559.00 for a rebuild if the torque converter is not bad. If so that is another $259.00 and barring nothing else if found or it could be higher. Of course I told them to go for it as I really don't have a choice. So it's off to the bank and beg real hard.

Now I know the answer to the driveline clunk I've been hearing for a week or 2. I just bought the AutoTrak fluid to put in my transfer case this weekend but I guess that will have to wait until I get her back.

That sucks, but unfortunately sometimes we have to "bond" closer to the truck.  The give and take of the relationship...open thy wallet- the 92 Jimmy was good for that a bit.  Of course Granny's hand-me-down 85 Dodge 600 was the Queen of retrofit.

Hey, I was wondering if you were using a shift kit?  I am thinking of putting a Transgo valve body upgrade in my '00 Sierra to beef things up a little.  Was yours stock?

Well what broke on mine is a flaw in these trannys the shop told me. I got the upgrade now that is not GM but it is costing me $3000 that I don't have so I had to get it out of my 401K so I can't get my baby for another few days. It's killing me to drive my brother-in-laws dodge........   I'll let ya'll what happens when I get her back.
