Big O Tire

After I bought my 72 Monte Carlo I had the brakes checked with their free brake inspection.  Well I haven't dirven it much on the highway until today.  On the way back passing the Oakland Coulsium, which is packed, the traffic slowed to a crawl and I started hearing something coming from the rearend rattling.  I thought the rearend was going out because it was shaking so bad, so I drove it on the shoulder for the next three miles till I could get it to my shop.  After we took the center hub off we found that one of the studs had sheered off and the other four lug nuts were all just a few turns from coming off.

 

After they checked my brakes they didn't properlly tourqe my lug nuts back on.  Glad I wasn't doing 70-80 like I had been doing a few minutes prior to that.

Anyone else have a bad experience with the Big 'O'?

Until then they seemed OK.  But it only takes once with something like that to turn me off :angry:

Always been cool with Big O.  Sounds more like an innatentive mechanic.  Be interested to hear what they have to say for themselves -
