Just curoius if anyone else has there exhaust covered in black carbon, I have a 2011 gm cc with the 5.3 with only 900 kms on her so far.

do you make a lot of short trips and the truck not allowed to get hot? you live in a cold climate!

during the week yes I only live 3 miles from work but on the weekends we go for drives out of town, I put 250 kms this weekend.This week I leave to drive down to Florida.

Unleaded gas burns black and the old leaded gas would burn gray when the A/F was just right.

Yes i noticed this on my truck also (09 w/ 5.3). And i also have a very sort ride to work everyday and live where the winters get cold... Glad to hear its a normal thing because i was wondering the samething myself.
