Very Small Crack On Dash Hardly Noticeable But....

My truck is an 08 with 60k and I just recently noticed a small crack on the dash right next to the air bag on the passenger side. Has anyone else had experience with this issue? And /or warranty on this problem. I've been doing some research and it seem this is quite common on this dash. My concern is am I gonna have to fork out cash for this even though I have an extended warranty? If so the entire dealership is gonna have to escort me out of there after I let them know how im feeling. Thanks

Maybe if you stay calm and explain the issue you wont have any issues. Going in all worked up isnt going to get you very far.

Interior trim is covered for 3 years/36k miles on your truck. So, you are out of warranty.

Do you happen to know about extended? I got the best u could get they just dnt give u a list of what covered

The extended warranty you have purchased should have a detailed description of what is covered, and if there are any deductibles per repair. Typically, extended warranties do not cover cosmetic items such as upholstery, interior parts, or paint. There could be exceptions, of course. Check the details of your warranty, or call whoever you bought the warranty from.

Gee, I think you're in a gray area. It all depends on what they classify a dash as. See this link for a description of what is and not covered.

Covered Parts

It's as simple as this: If it's not on the very short list of what's not covered, it's covered!

For years, millions of Major Guard customers have known that, "From the engine to the trunk lock, if a part breaks - even if it results from wear and tear * - and it's not on the list of the few items not covered, Major Guard will pay for the repair less any applicable deductible - whatever the part!"

Non-Covered Parts

Sheet metal

Body parts, panels and rails

Bumpers

Chassis frame

Cross members

Hinges

Trim, moldings, and bright metal

Paint

Rust damage

Convertible and vinyl tops

Weather-strips

Carpet and upholstery

Exhaust system and catalytic converter

Tires

Glass

Lenses

Sealed Beams

Light Bulbs

Batteries

Brake drums

Shock absorbers

Squeaks , rattles, wind noise and odors

Correction of air and water leaks

I bet they will include the dash under "trim". Also, a crack in the dash will be considered a cosmetic defect only that will not impact the truck's drivability at all.

It's the first I've heard of it. Any pics?

Talked to the dealership I bought the truck from and of course they don't know their ass from a hole in the ground. So I pulled some info up on a tahoe forum and there's a 11 page thread on people with the same exact problem and there was a # and ext. For the person everyone talked to. I called that # and they set me up with an appointment at a local dealer to look at the damage. There is even a youtube video 5 minutes with numerous vehicles with the same crack. Ill bring all this evidence to the dealer if need be.

Took my truck to the GM dealer today guy looked at the crack said yea we see this alot we will take care of it and oh by the way there is a recall on the windshield water heater so GM will be sending you a 100$ for that. So I walked in with a broken dash walked out with a soon to be replaced dash and 100$ richer lol no thanks to the ford used lot I got the truck from. I called them to ask about the extended warranty I bought from them they said oh we don't know if it would or wouldn't be covered. I said so yal sale something yal know nothing about?
