So i was at my buddys last night watching sabres game.. Go sabres!

Anyway we were all playing darts while watching the game. Cricket to be exact..

His darts suck! The flights kept popping off, tips kept breaking. and the shaft / barrels kept coming unscrewed....

So now im looking to get into darts, or at least my own set i can use when i go there. :)

What does everyone recommend? His board is electronic, can take metal or soft tips, but he dosent want metal used as sometimes certain people throw to hard and he dosent want to hurt the board / circuitry..

Ive been looking on ebay and found many choices , but am looking for a decent quality set with a case for at most $30 or so..

Heres one i found so far that looks decent..

Are there any soft tip darts that are made not to break / bend so easy?

I used to play more often. My buddies and myself got electronic dartboards. We played wherever we hung out. With electronic you could play different games and since we were drinking the dartboard kept score. :) It was always a win/win. We always used plastic tip darts. They are super cheap.

I have never played long with soft tip darts. I am like you they bend and break way too easily. I throw in a league with steel points. I would suggest getting a cork board (they last a long time), and buy some real darts. As for brand and type, it is all personal preference. I throw with some people who have $150 darts and others with $30 darts. I really like the Johnny K. darts I have. Johnny K is from PA and is one of the best in the country. Its all about weight distribution and how you like to hold your darts. Best of luck to you because it is a VERY frustrating game!

Plastic tip darts for an Electronic board last a long time too. You can by a dartboard and darts for less than $100. You can buy soo many darts and plastic tips for $40 that you'll goo a long time. Most bars around here even have electronic boards now. Cork is very old school.

I have yet to be in a bar with an Electronic Dart Board, but then again I don't go to many bars. LOL And cork boards might be old school, but that is where all the money and rankings is decided. Newer technology is not always the best.

all the bars around here use the old cork boards, Widdy to be exact. now you go into the big city with the fancy bars and you might find an electric dart board. but cork boards and wooden darts with metal tips is where its at. lol
