Car Topper Damage Prevention

The facts: I may get a job delivering pizzas within the next month to earn extra income, and we are all aware the car toppers they put on top that advertise the pizza place that's delivering. I had a roommate who delivered pizzas and those things scratch the living h*** out of your vehicle's roof. I was thinking of putting a towel, maybe a few layers of saran wrap, or something between the topper and my roof, but then the topper would just slide off as soon as I turn. I plan on buying a POS to deliver in after a month or so once I've saved up funds for it, but my truck still has to get through that first month.

 

The question: Is there a way to prevent the topper and it's magnets from scratching the roof of my truck?

Just cover the magnets with a single layer of Scotch 33 electrical tape, it'll stick to your roof just fine and the tape acts as a barrier between the paint and metal on the magnets.

I would look into a piece of 3M paint protection, thats what I did temporarily for my magnet CB antenna
