Someone With 06 Calif. Emissions

Want to know what your emission label says. Mine says meets fed regulations certified for calif. I'm in Mo. and found a truck from Calif. but not sure. I need to know how to tell the difference. Are the calif. emissions parts higher? Different cats and such? Thanks

To my knowlege nothing is different. You just need that California sticker to register the truck in California. I just bought a new truck in North Dakota and ordered it with the California sticker so I could register the truck in California and nothing is different.

I think the cats might contain a little bit more platinum for better emissions, but that's about it, maybe slightly different pcm tune also, but no reason not to buy one.

Does cali truck have smog pumps? I don't believe I have one on my Mo. truck.Something to do with being a truck?

It might have what they call an A.I.R. system, but it's slightly different than old school smog pumps.

CA emissions could be more efficient cats (or just more of them), different engine tune and possibly different O2 analyzers. At Hyundai when I was there we'd see Elantras with CA-spec emissions systems as MA, VT and a few other northeast states follow CA regs. They had a funky O2 analyzer that measured for like 4 or 5 different emission compounds. Damn sensor had like a 14 pin connector if memory serves.
