Thats a cool video. So many people think because the old classics are solid steel construction they would rather crash in one of those than in a modern vehicle and i've always disagreed especially after that video!

They've done some interesting crash tests the past few years. One of the other interesting ones showed the difference between small and larger sedans. They crashed a Camry into a Yaris, an Accord into a Fit and my favorite, a Mercedes C-class into a Smart car:

If you want to have a cheap repair bill and keep your car...the old car wins hands down....

However, if you want to live to repair it, those crumple zones, air bags...etc etc, are worth they're weight in gold.

but seriously, think of how many large vehicles there are out there... large SUVs, large vans, trucks of all types, that if they hit you at any angle above 25mph could kill you if you were in that P.O.S.

Ever watch the one where they crashed it into a concrete wall...I would assume thats what would happen. It wouldn't be good for the passengers I can tell you that.

No BS. Old cars are garbage in safety. The Malibu driver would still be in good shape and the guy in the '59 would still be dead.

My first car was a 1957 Ford Custom 300 (Big ass sedan). I t-boned a guy in a 1982 Toyota who ran a red light. His car had a bent frame, snapped axle, every side window windshield and rear window smashed, and crumpled the body up and around the frame. My 57 had a scuffed bumper and bent the headlight housing (Although the headlight itself didn't break). Luckily I was only going about 30MPH, and had a second or two to slow down before I actually hit him.

In the low speed crash, it was pretty comical seeing the difference in damage done to the cars.
