Installed New Led Tailgate Spoiler From Zoomlights.com

I installed the LED tailgate spoiler from Zoomlights.com on my 09 Silverado

It looks great, with the LED's built into the OEM tailgate spoiler, it's at the perfect height to get peoples attention when you hit the brakes / turn signals.

It was easy to install, just unbolt the original spoiler and bolt this one back on, the wire goes through an existing hole in the top of the tailgate, and out the bottom of the tailgate through another existing hole.

What all funtions does it have, brake, turn etc and how does it connect to the trucks wiring?

Yes, tail lights, brake, and turn. It has a flat 4 pin trailer connector. I bought a Curt T connector harness from realtruck.com that plugs right in to the factory harness, and provides the 4 pin flat connector to plug the LED tailgate spoiler into.

Thanks for the info. It looks cool on your truck.... I've never seen anything like that except on caddy's.

Nice i like it. If i didnt already my under the tailgate lightbar I think I'd buy this. Both lightbars might be too much :)

That is an interesting concept. I'm not a fan of it being constantly on with the tail lamps though. Would getting around that be as simple as cutting the tail light wire on the harness?

Yes, you could cut the tail light wire on the LED spoiler, and it will just have brake, and turn signal functions. However, I like the tail light feature, it adds a nice look to the back of the truck.

for that price.......theres more than enough lights already on the back... something like this is a hey why the hell not kind of purchase, but for that price i dont see it at all. the blinkers dont even scan like the new recon bars do, nor does it have reverse... good luck

I think I'd like it, but I need to hold of on buying stuff for the truck for a bit. It would look a lot nicer IMO if instead of visible LED modules a tinted/smoked "light pipe" was used so when it was off it had a stealthy look to it.

Yes...unplug the factory harness from the back of the 7-round connector, plug in the Curt T connector, then plug into the back of the 7-round connector. This allows you to still use the 7-round and also gives you a 4-pin under the bumper.
