About $7 dollars a spray can (either a black, or the black rubberized under coating in a can). It is easy to do yourself. And as for the gap guards, I wouldn't worry about the front, and just buy the $100 rear wheel house liners. Much cleaner look.

cool, thanks, got the black rubberized coating ill spray on this weekend. what kind of prep should i do. do you think cleaning it good at the car wash would be good enough or do you think i should try to hit it with a wire brush? as for the liners, ive got an idea of how to make some that i think will look pretty good. ill post pics when im done and let you guys decide. if it looks like shit ill take em off and get the liners.

Not sure on the prep work. Some people have used wire brushes, and some have used like a spackle or some sort of scraper. I've heard of people using WD-40 on it to scrape it, and I've heard of using gasoline as well as other chemicals, so I don't know. I just haven t cared enough to mess with mine. Hell, I think most have just scraped that waxy stuff of with a scraper and painted it, then touch it up every now and them, so I don't know. There are a lot of people who have done it that will probably chime in on the best process.

As for the liners, the GM ones will still look best as well as keep road noise down on rock roads. But then again, I forgot your truck was black already, so I'm sure whatever you make will be fine. I got them mainly because I have a white truck and it gets so dirty up under there, you can't keep it clean. Starts to turn brown. Actually, even though your truck is black, a lot of people spray their rear fender wells with that same rubberized coating that you use on the frame.

What time is your truck going to be done, i cant wait to see pictures i think this set up gives the truck a perfect stance. I hope it all works out for you.

should be done by six. i think it will look good. just hope they improved the new kit and it stays allined. I get my new tires on this weekend and will probably wait till then to clean it up and take some pics. so should have them up next week somtime.

How has the lift worked for you so far. I am considering it for a 08 ext cab z71. Will be using stock 18" wheels with yokohama 285/65/r18 Geolander AT-S tires.

everything good so far. drives straight, smooth and no noises. going back in another 1000 miles just to check alignment. my suggestion to you is (if you already have a leveling kit) just add a 1.5" body lift. You will be able to clear those tires easy with stock wheels. Then if you think you need more, put on the 3.5" rcx suspension, but remeber, by taking off and leveling kit and putting the 3.5" rcx on, you are actually only gaining about 1.5"

Truck is completely stock other than the new tires. I am clearing the body with these tires already. I am just looking to improve the stance. In the future I might add bigger tires and wheels. House projects to attend to first. Lol.
