I heard on the radio this morning that employers are supposed to allow employees 2 hours to go out and vote.  Therefore I am leaving now and exercising my right to vote.  I hope you all do the same!

I think people who are uneducated about what they are voting for should just stay home.

I can agree with this.

On my way to work on the radio station, one of the sports guys said this...."Make a list, one side will have a list of Friends(tv show) cast & the other side will have a list of past presidents....if the first column is bigger....stay home today."

I gotta be the buzz kill here and say that I am NOT voting in this years election.  But I do have some good reasons why so let me point out a few of them.

1.  There are 3 different propositions in AZ that deal with the Indians use of casinos.  All of the propositions say different things and the wording used on them is used in such a way that the basic premise is lost after the first few lines.  Being unable to find out what each proposition is acutally saying, I am not informed well enough and therefore should not vote.

2.  Medicinal use of marijuana has been passed 3 times in AZ but it keeps coming back on th ballot because politicians say that the voters were confused about the topic and didn't know what they were voting for (when I say confused, basically the politicans said the voters were idiots).  It is on the ballot again, but it is teamed up with other bills that would be good for AZ if they were passed.  It's a double edged sword no matter which way you vote so I am not going to vote.

3.  Mud-slinging has been huge in this election and I haven't seen a single commercial (print, radio, television or otherwise) that shows me what the individual candidates stand for.  And it may be a lame excuse, but I am just too busy to bother and read up on each candidates stance.  It should be said simply and outright what each candidate's platform is.  As a result of not knowing what the candidates stand for, I should not vote because I do not know what the candidates stand for.

4 (and this isn't a reason why I am not voting).  Lets say that I vote for a candidate to be governor in AZ and that person really screws up the state.  Being that I voted for that person, I would not be able to b!+(h about it because I elected that person that screwed up the state.  If I don't vote and the state gets messed up, I should be able to criticize the governor becuase I did not cause the problem.  Do you see my reasoning here?  If not, listen to George Carlin, I think he states it better than I do.

That's what I think, plus, no matter what happens here in AZ and who votes, things will still be screwed up and I will still have to go to Jury Duty (which I am pissed about as well).  Just my opinion!

1.  If you don't get educated to vote and use that as an excuse not to vote, then you should keep your d@mn mouth shut and never bitch about how things are run.

2.  The Constitution does not discriminate against stupid people.  Even they have the right to vote.  If stupid people couldn't vote, there wouldn't be as many Democrats in office.   :flag:

Whaddya know, I ended up voting a straight Republican ballot.

I started that way, but I had quite a few write-ins.  Where there was only one official running for the office, and he/she was a democrat, I wrote in Mickey Mouse.
