2004 Silverado Torque Specs

Recommended Posts

Hi, I've got a buddy who is going to replace his head gaskets and intake gasket on an 04 Silverado 5.3

Does anyone know the torque specs for the heads, intake, etc that he may run into when reinstalling everything?

Thanks!

Your friend shouldn't even be attempting this without a service manual, especially if he doesn't already know that the head bolts are torque-to-yield. Does the intake have to come off to remove the heads? Seems strange that he would need to change both? What is he trying to fix? If it aint broke...

+1 Head bolts are torque to yield. Head bolts are in foot pounds, intake is in inch pounds. There are specific orders that you must torque the headbolts, intake bolts, and rocker arms. As stated before invest in the the Helm manual.

Hey, if not the HELM manual just have him get a subscription in ALLDATAdiy.com. It is the HELM manual online. It is exactly the same illustrations as the hub manual. I find it very helpful.
