Tranny Fluid Level

As some may know I recently changed the trans filter and fluid and a was stumped today when I drove back home from work and parked the truck on most level surface I have, completely flat, checked the fluid 5 times and the fluid is not even filling the lower hole of the dip stick, my drive home was at a constant 70 for 30 min then some low speed 35 for about 10min so I know the fluid should be nice and hot so is it still low, no visible leaks on pavement, not at work either, truck is an 06 5.3, I added a total of 5qts of dexVI, since thats what was recommended, even in the fluid pan, open top to prevent less mess, it didnt look like it was over five at all, maybe im wrong but I dont want to add more fluid since my truck didnt come with a drain plug. so anyone else ever have the same prob or know about this?

Fill it until the dipstick level is correct. If you're worried fill it in small increments

Agree with Darral, bring it up to the proper level on the dipstick.

Yeah that was my initial thought, Just was wondering if there could have been another reason for it not to reach the dots

The five qts that you put in are just an initial fill. You always need to go by the dipstick
