Off Roading When Bad - Leaf Spring

yesterday I decided to test my new BDS 6' lifted 2010 GMC sierra off road capabilities and I really was amazed how those new trucks perform!

I had a little problem though ....I started to hear a squeaking sound from the rear left side of the truck when I when back to the pavement.

I'm not a truck expert nor a mechanic so please can someone tell me how serious is this:

I know that my truck has a 4 leafs spring system but I'm not sure where did that piece of metal came from nor what its functionality

Is it easy to fix it myself? or should take it to a garage ?

Looks like a piece of your leaf. Take it back to your BDS lift installer. They didn't do something right, that should have never happened.

BDS has the best warranty you can find. They will fix it. After that junky RC 3" lift got put on my truck, the rear end squeaked like hell, and I just jacked it up to spread the leaf springs and coated it with WD-40. That fixed my problem with squeaking.

thats the pad that goes between the stock leaf springs, when they took the leaf pack apart to install the add-a-leaf they probably didnt get it lined back up with the holes and it worked out, however you deffinitlyshould get it checked out, if they tried to tighten everythin with that wedged in and it worked loose your u-bolts could be loose as well. the pad is not 100 percent necessary as the AAL doesnt come with an extra one to install. but i would deffinitly get it looked at sooner than later

I spent a lot on my truck and have spent countless hours on custom stuff, don't feel scratching it all up, or breaking sh*t like the original OP did.

As for the piece it goes between the leafs. Did the leaf pack center bolt break? The center bolt should hold that in.

If you spent serious $ on your truck and enjoy showing it, you would understand, but you haven't so you don't get it. It's ok.

why lift it if you arent gunna offroad it? i HATE pavement queens. just me though. to the OP, whoever installed it did it wrong or your bolt broke. either way, like they said about your U bolts, get it checked out fast.
