I have a 2002 Trailblazer LT,,, And I'm a little disturbed about that muffler and tailpipe staring me in the face!!!! I know it's good material but you would think they would black it out with some high temperature black  paint or is there not a paint out there that will stay on that muffler,,,also the tip points down,,,I thought about putting a cool tip on it to hide the muffler,,,but beins the tip points down I don't think that will work to good! Any cheap ideas!

I have a 2002 Envoy SLE and my muffler and tail pipe are black already, right from the factory. Maybe some hi-heat paint would work, or header paint. I would think that the exahust way back there would be cooler then heads would be. But, then again, the exaust, at least on my Envoy is Stainless steel, so I don't know how well pain would stick to the stainless.

As far as the tip goes, I had the same problem on my 1996 GMC Jimmy. What I did was cut off the curve and added the tip onto the straight part that was left of the tailpipe. But, be sure to measure the length of the tip first. If you cut off too much pipe and don't get the tip out far enough you could risk getting exhaust gases into the cabin.

Another idea would be to add a piece of pipe on as an elbow and make your exaust a side exit, and put the tip on that.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

Hey,,, preciate all the info,,,think I'm goin to paint the muffler-tailpipe !st then maybe get some tips and have them welded on,,,the corsa tips are a little to much money for me to invest in just tips{$150.00} they are pretty cool lookin though and made real good! HMMMM!!! Nah! Advance had some decent ss pipes if I go that route! I bought some engine paint{header} 500 degree should do! Beins it probably don't get that hot back there! I also bought a bully hitch step at advance for $50.00 It's about 2' long and chrome with a rubber step pad and rubber ends that point inward,,,I also drilled xtra holes in the step to get it about 2'' from the bumper,,, it didn't look good sticking that far out originally plus would be bad on the knees,,,but plenty of space in case somebody hits it,,,I hope?   :D FLYANA

Yeah,,

Already painted the coffee-can,,,when I get time I'll stop by pep boys and get a triple chrome pipe,,,maybe? I'm curious to know how long that pipe will last,,,might look for a cheaper ss pipe if possible,,,find a happy medium ya know! I took off the luggage rack crossmembers,,,And I must say it is quieter and looks better! thanks for the info,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, 02 envoy slt!!!                                :D  :chevy: FLYANA

Everytime I get behind one of the triplet's I think to myself - why didn't GM do a better job at hiding the spare tire/muffler?

It looks like a horse's arse IMO.

All it would talk would be some body cladding and a nice hole for the tailpipe to stick out of........yeesh
