1954 Dually Ideas

Ok i have a 1954 chevy 6400 2 ton truck and i know i dont want to do just a restoration i want more power and usability out of it because if im gonna spend the money to restore it im gonna drive/use it. my idea is to drop the cab and front end on a newer duramax era 3500 and build a custom old school style bed for it. any one have any thoughts on this??

any pics? that sounds kinda like guys on power block show trucks, but they got 77 f-350 that there putting on 99 dodge diesel.

not yet im workin on pullin it up to the house now its been sittin in the same place on the andparents farm for prolly 20-25 years trees around it and one between the frame rails lol to get it to the house need a tractor but my prototype will prolly involve an old 12 valve dodge i will get pics as soon as i can tho.
