Photos Of Gmt-900 Trucks With Rear Spring Block Removed?

Recommended Posts

Newbie here, I searched but nothing found.....

I've heard of guys doing this on their 1500's, and found a little info on here about it, but no photos of how the truck sits afterwards taking out the stock 1.25" block (although lots of front leveling kits). Any photos on stock wheels would be even better! This is my company truck so I'm trying to spend as little as possible while making it look decent! Thanks guys!

truck with no blocks at all? Or like with a 3" rear block (stock is 1.25")?

Just removing the stock 1.25" block so that the rear sits more level is what I am asking about!

Pretty sure the block needs to be there for the spring to sit properly. Why are you messing with a company-issued vehicle anyway?

Do you really know for sure?? These Belltech instructions (included with drop shackles) seem to say different. They do say to re-use the bolts which we know isn't a great idea!

Not to be rude but it's not you truck so don't mess with it. Unless your best bud or kindfolk run it then have fun.

You guys are kiling me, what do you care what I do, its my business. Anybody with any answers? Thanks!

short answer.... bad idea! the axle must be at a certain angle so the drveshaft doesn't bind.

the proper way to level the rear is with new shackles, which should come with a different block so that the driveline angle stays proper.

Sorry I missed this earlier. I don't know for sure about the block but I do know re-using U-bolts on the axle is one of the bigger no-nos out there. I can't believe a company would condone that. Most U-bolts are torque to yield and can only be used once.

Just another prime example of why company trucks arent worth two shits when they are sold off........... just sayin

I've seen some other threads about removing rear blocks but haven't found them yet (and probably wont look much more).

Hey man, Im trying to do this right, hence why Im asking the question. My company trucks are the best maintained ones out there, I treat 'em as my own! I don't want to be broken down hours from civilization!
