Just thought i'd ask this, i'm one of those guys that dosen't beat his truck and most of the time i try to make every drop of gas count(i know you have to pay to play but i'd rather drive more laxed then have to give up the truck because of the cost of gas)

anyways vote away...currently i'm averaging about 20 mpg with 90% highway driving and my current rpm being about 1800

Generally 1600rpm on the freeway (110km/hr)

Even lower when I cruise 90km/hr on the backroads.

I'm not scared to mat it, or sometimes keep it stomped until I hit the Speed Limiter, on a long stretch, I got a large stretch out to an island dock on the ocean(work).

Sometimes ya gotta pass, sometimes ya wanna drive fast.

Generally I cruise and keep about 10km above the limit (except school zones, safe around kids)

In my truck? I rarely look at the tach. I normally just go to the speed limit and hit cruise (I live fairly rural and suffer through a whole two stop signs in my grueling commute).

Yes. In the slow lane

In the car? I hit redline all the time and I drive it like I stole it from the guy who stole it.

Depends. Around town I lock the truck into 4th so it won't bog down in overdrive. It costs some efficiency but response is better. Highway is usually around 75 MPH. Both cases result in cruising around 2k RPM but I'm not afraid to open it up either. Average is 16.5 according to the DIC.

It all depends on what kind of mood Im in.

If Im pissed, Ill drive hard and keep the RPM up around 3500 - 4000 when passing or accelerating, and keep the speedo at around 75 on the highway.

If Im feeling good and have the tunes cranked, Ill do the same.

On a normal day Ill keep the tach around 2000 or just under, except when accelerating which it will see maybe 2500. Dont feel the need to pass much in that mood, and keep the speedo around 65-70 (which is the speed limit on my commute)

most of the time its 55/ stay alive.... when I pass, I mat the long skinny pedal on the right. I have run it up to the rev limiter a few times, and then get depressed when it shuts off at 97 mph....

Should've made the pole qualitative instead of quantitative.... I dont pay attention to RPMs.

Around town, i don't granny it, but i dont floor it. i just accelerate normally. If there's a red traffic light ahead i'll granny it up to it so i dont have to stop (its funny how that actually pisses people off behind you... they cant wait to get to the light to stop or something?). On the highway i normally cruise in the right lane with my cruise set at about 5 mph over and just cruise (unless its a 3+ hr ride... then i pray that traffic is going much faster and i hang with them).

All in all, i say i drive like a normal person who isn't out there to race and isn't out there to save every drop of gas. i just drive and get where i need to go.

I drive to save gas and increase MPG's on a daily basis, but I paid good money to get my truck tuned and have exhaust for a reason. She see's WOT shift points Justin set quite often.

Here in Houston, while in the city my truck sees mostly between 2k-3k shifts, but i bet 4 times daily the pedal goes through the floor.... it's the only way to survive here. On highway I cruise between 75-90

I drive like an old man.. I'm the guy you hate to be behind, because I maintain a constant speed, I coast when I see stale green lights or yellow/red lights.. I move at a slow and steady pace, I watch my high horizon and see the traffic slowing long before you do.

I change lanes/move over in plenty of time before my exit, I don't swoop across lanes of traffic, I signal move a lane, cancel signal travel a few hundred feet signal again move a lane, etc.

I am courteous, to all other drivers (esp Semi-Truck drivers, I don't mess with things bigger than me), even the buttnuggets and asshats, I allow people to change lanes in front of me instead of acting like a bull dog and "guarding my territory" (i.e. spot in that lane).

I follow traffic laws to the letter 99% of the time, and I know the traffic laws in my state inside and out, I maintain a copy of the State Vehicle Code and keep myself familiar with the most used and most recent laws.

I drive like a responsible, sensible adult, not a jackass who thinks the highways are my personal property..

I drive from point A to point B with the clear intent of getting there without incident. I take pride in the ownership of my vehicle and have no desire to have it dented, scratched, or marred in any way, which is why I have not had an at fault accident in 27 years of driving, and why my brakes usually last well past 70K miles, and I can pull a couple hundred thousand miles out of a vehicle without any major repairs, because I don't abuse the vehicle..

yup, I am the guy you hate to be behind... so go around..

I drive somewhat fast everywhere i go because i've come to the conclusion that im gonna get horrible gas mileage pretty much no matter where im at unless on the I state so why not have fun and enjoy it?

HAHA true.... I am just way too busy and always in a hurry  . I am courteous, respect and obey all laws, except for most speed limits. But it's different here than in Dallas. In Dallas you get pulled over for 5-10 over..... in Houston the traffic is moving at 75 when the speed limit is 60 and they blow right past the cops here without an issue :D:lol:

So how many hours ago did you move to Cali? Cause I have trouble believing someone whose lived there for longer than that is capable of civil driving.

Ive tried driving like a granny to save gas, and I really didnt notice any difference, so now i just let the big bad 4.3 loose (lol), usually 10-15 over the limit on the highway, and the back roads, but drive the speed limit in town and dont rev too high between shifts (2000-3500)
