Tow Haul Mode ?

I recently traded my 2000 Silverado 1500 for a 2007 Silverado 1500, both are 5.3, 4wd. On the 2000 with T/H mode on I noticed a big difference on when and how the transmission shifted, on my 2007 I noticed little if any difference. Was wondering if this is typical for the newer trucks or if I have something wrong.

Welcome to the site. And I'd say it's less of a difference than from your 2000 but.. there's def. a difference. You should notice the truck shifts at a higher RPM... holding first and second longer and a little more line pressure for quicker shifts. If your not getting that, then I'd say somethings wrong.

When you hit the button, does the light on the dash light up?

The dash light does come on when I hit the button.

Ok, I checked it out more thoroughly last night, I does hang on in each gear longer, about a 1000 RPM's but as far as shifting firmer there is only a slight difference. My 2000 shifted so hard it would rattle your teeth. The 2000 was a little excessive, 2007 seems a little conservative. Anyway I plan on adding the vette servo to firm up the shifts. Would a BlackBear tune help much while towing (camper 5200lbs dry), I really don't want to run anything but 87 octane if I can help it.

Dont have a tune but from researching it helps for all kinds of driving. While your putting in the corvette servo you might want to look at putting in superior 700R4/4L60E billet super servo 4th apply piston and cover. Your can get it from oregon performance and if you tow in OD it holds the bands tighter so there's less heat and improves 4-3 shifts.

I think it is definitely more noticable on the 6 speed trans.
