Anyone Have Any Experience With Go Rhino Warranty Claim?

I contacted Go Rhino about my passenger side Dominator II Nerf Bar black finish chipping/flaking away. These are only 8 months old & this started happening when they were 5 months old. They said to send them an email with a description of what was happening, my receipt & some pictures. I did all that on Thursday (8/4). I haven't heard a response back, but what can I expect? Do they take care of their customers? Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with them.

Unless that company is right next door to you, don't expect to receive any info or contact till next week. Other than that if they stand by their warranty 100% then I wouldn't worry

They are warrantied? I have a set off my megacab that are in my shed. They rusted after literally 4-5 months. Worst 700 I ever spent. I took them off cause they made my truck look like shite.

Everything pretty much comes with at least a 1 year warranty. In fact i wont buy something new unless it has a 1 year warranty. Most manufactures will honor it and make good... Especially knowing that word of mouth sell there products.. OR wont sell there products.

 

Reading that Mindee bought the bars and they rusted in less than HALF A YEAR, would make me choose a different brand especially knowing she spent $700 on them.

 

If they give you any grief about making good, direct them to this forum and this topic... Because as of now there are 2 people that have a similar problems with there bars and that can easily multiply by X number of members and non members looking away from go rhino when they need bars..

lol mine are doing same thing told me to send pics and receipt so i did yesterday. hope to hear back from them this week! my truck never off road and now where near any salt! powdercoating should last for years. I got these last october

That's me, :thumbs: The weird thing is that the driver side is fine (the side I use), but the passenger side is all messed up. I barely use the passenger side at all. I figure why sell them and take a loss? I want the problem fixed so that they are brand new, and then I am going to sell them & get a pair of Ionic step bars (which I should have done in the first place)

 

BTW sic, I also dealt with Myriam as well.

im sire They had something go wrong with prep b4 powder coating. My truck stays as clean as clean can get. Been detailing cars for 15 years. Hell I even waxed my step bars. If they screw me over ill be on every site online dogging them. I love the look so I would just take to my friend And have him repowder coat them.

I called Myriam today around 1pm EST. She said that she had to go talk to her supervisor and that she would call me back by the end of the day. Still haven't heard back from her.

Haven't got a email back either. If they don't do something I will give them internet hell lmao lol. I will do anything to screw their sales lol

Just got off the phone with Myriam. She is sending me a whole new step bar for the passenger side! My driver side is in mint shape and now I will have a new passenger side as well. Time to sell them together and get the Ionic.

 

Myriam also said that the warranty is good for 5 years.

:D Shouldve kept my receipt. I have the Dominator II steps and they are nicer ( when new) than any other step...I hate chrome. I was really disappointed with how they rusted. We do use salt on the roads here in Ottawa Canada...but they rusted before winter came. It was about 2 wks into the snow they came off cause they would build up with snow and they looked pretty crappy, rusted at both ends...obvious rust from a distance too.

 

Im guessing those that don't have a lot of rain or humidty etc don't have the same problem with them rusting up. I would still buy them again though...cause they look different than the typical (ugly IMO)tubular step. Id just use that warranty next time or get them properly powdercoated!

Ok called after sending pics. They said they would replace them but I would have to pay half of shipping $60. Well I wanted a 2nd opinion. I went to local shop that I got them from. They have a new set on the way no charge. :-) sometimes it pays off to spend the extra cash for a local shop.

    • No such thing as regenerative braking on a pure ICE vehicle.     Regenerative braking is the re-capture of energy from electric motors and stores it in the battery pack.  So hybrids, PHEV and EVs have regenerative braking.     What you are seeing is the charging system changing modes is all.  Its likely entering charge mode for some sort of reason is all.  All of the charging modes will be listed below.   As for L10 vs D.  L10 turns off automatic grade braking.  L10 puts you in control of grade downshifts where in D it will automatically do it based on brake pedal position and other factors.  Otherwise L10 and D drive exactly the same aside from that one aspect.    Battery Sulfation Mode The BCM will enter this mode when the interpreted Generator output voltage is less than 13.2 V for 45 minutes. When this condition exists the BCM will enter Charge Mode for 2–3 minutes. The BCM will then determine which mode to enter depending on voltage requirements.   Charge Mode The BCM will enter Charge Mode when ever one of the following conditions are met:   Windshield wipers are ON for more than 3 s. Climate Control Voltage Boost Mode Request is true, as sensed by the HVAC control module via serial data. High speed cooling fan, rear defogger, and HVAC high speed blower operation can cause the BCM to enter the Charge Mode. The estimated battery temperature is less than 0°C (32°F). Battery State of Charge is less than 80%. Vehicle speed is greater than 145 km/h (90 mph) A current sensor malfunction exists. System voltage is determined to be below 12.56 V When any one of these conditions is met, the system will set targeted generator output voltage to a charging voltage between 13.9–15.5 V, depending on the battery state of charge and estimated battery temperature.   Fuel Economy Mode The BCM will enter Fuel Economy Mode when the estimated battery temperature is at least 0°C (32°F) but less than or equal to 80°C (176°F), the calculated battery current is less than 15 A and greater than −8 A, and the battery state-of-charge is greater than or equal to 80%. Its targeted generator output voltage is the open circuit voltage of the battery and can be between 12.5–13.1 V. When fuel economy mode is active, the generator is not charging, only maintaining open circuit battery voltage. The BCM will exit this mode and enter Charge Mode when any of the conditions described above are present.   Headlamp Mode The BCM will enter Headlamp Mode when ever the head lamps are ON (high or low beams). Voltage will be regulated between 13.9–14.5 V.   Start Up Mode When the engine is started the BCM sets a targeted generator output voltage of 14.5 V for 30 s.   Tow/Haul Mode (if applicable) Pressing the Tow/Haul Mode button located on the center stack, the vehicle system voltage is raised and the remote (non-vehicle) battery will be charged. Having the headlamps on will raise the system voltage and if the Tow/Haul button is applied it will not serve any purpose. The voltage is regulated between 13.9-14.5 V.      
    • Hello from Australia Just sharing that there is now a way to delete the active shutters entirely with just a plug in module. Opens up tons of room to light bars etc.
    • I have an observation and a question... 1) I watch the voltage closely because I have had to dial in the cut-in/cut-out voltages of the battery separator to my camper.  The "smart" charging drives me nuts.  Anyway, I noticed that when coasting for a while, and especially if lightly using the brakes (though not necessary), the voltage goes up from mid/high-13 volts to mid/high-14 volts.  Then it drops back down after stopping or going again.  Consistently!   The only explanation I can come up with is REGENERATIVE BRAKING!  Well, maybe that's a little bit of an exaggeration, but it's certainly free extra battery charging.   2) Driving on mountain roads I will use L and vary the max gear.  Things straighten out and I end up in L10.  Sometimes I leave it there for a while.  Is there any difference between L10 and D?   
    • Do you think this width might affect the chalk test with a higher pressure closer to 65psi? I think lowering the pressure makes sense to get the tread to lay flatter
