Bulb behind the indicator could have burned out.

I wish my 2011 has some type of indicator as to what mode your in . Its only on the little dial and not easy to see . Why didnt they put something on the dash/speedo area with all the other gadget lights .

Your talking about the lights on the switch itself, correct? I don't think they had any lights on the dash. I would say you would have to replace the switch.

The GMT 800s and 900s did not have lights in the dash, only on the switch, with the exception of the W/T models with the manual 4X4 lever on the floorboard, those had lights in the dashes.

So here's a silly question (my truck has the same set-up - little indicator lights on the button itself)...

Does your 4wd actually engage, just the light doesn't come on? Maybe the light is a response to indicate the 4wd is actually engaged and yours isn't hooking up.

Just a thought.

the 4x4 indicator on the dash, not the button, might just take it in.

EXACTLY. You may see what you think should BE a light on the dash but there is no light behind it, there is no socket in the dash for that light. The only light is on the switch itself.

I have a floor shifted transfer case, 4x4 works, but the dash light that used to light up indicating the front axle is engaged does not come on now. Is there a sensor for this on the t-case??
