4l60 Transmission Flush

I resently had my machanic put in a used transmission for a local transmission company. He changed the filter and flushed the transmission. The transmissinon now switches into 1st 2nd and 3rd gear before 25 mph. I called the parts company i bought it from and they said because he did not flush it with a machine thats what meesed the trans mision up.... Now I do know that as soon as he put the transmission in I test drove it with him and thats when we found the problem. Now this transmission has ove 175,000 miles on it and I spoke with someone about not putting it on the machine because it has too many miles.

That might be the issue. It may just be time to go with a total rebuild and replace the worn out parts. It would be cheaper to do it all at once, than having to tear it down and replace each failed part as it goes out. Probably less of a headache too.

Make sure he hooked all the linkage up correctly. There are adjustments that need to be made, if I understand correctly you can't just throw one in like in the days of old with a turbo 400. The high mileage isn't the best either. I'm surprised you couldn't find one with lower miles on it than that.

With a 96, he shouldnt have linkage would he? I dont know much about these, but I thought the 4l60 was all electronic.

yes ,they are electric,only the shifter cable ,

 

used transmissions are a waste of time,its a crap shoot what ya get ,

 

it has to diagnosed now and double checked all the wiring and hook up a scanner if the light is on
