Which Floor Mats To Buy?

Recommended Posts

So I have my nice new shiny truck with nice clean black carpet and I love it. However the stock floor mats aren't doing jack when it comes to keeping my carpet clean(I bought a truck for a reason, I get dirty at work and play). I had Huskys in my old truck('97 silverado) and loved them, but I thought I'd get some opinions before I make a purchase. I want front and back mats and the only mats I've ever had experience with are the Huskys and Weathertechs. I'm not a huge fan of the Weathertechs but they aren't bad. Any experience anyone would like to throw in the knowledge bank?

On a side note, anyone have the Husky center hump mat? How well does it fit?

I went with the Weathertechs. I wasn't impressed with the Husky's in my 07 Ford, however I loved them in my older trucks. I think they make them thinner or something now because they kind of curled up around the wear areas and looked like crap after a little use. So far I am very happy with the weathertechs. The rear mat covers the entire ext. cab carpet so its still protected when you have the seats up.

Weathertechs

I had husky liners in my old truck and currently in my 08 Tahoe. The weathertechs in my 2010 are much better, they do not move around (fit is better)

Pender1,

I concede that I'm not entirely certain what the stock OEM floor mats are on a 2011 Silverado but one of my customers had OEM all weather mats (shown here). They seemed to stay in place quite well when I was working inside of the cabin area and the fit and finish appeared solid.

On second thought, aren't the stockers vinyl mats?

I have had good luck with Nifty Catch All's, they are form fit and well made.

I've heard a few people say the Huskys seem to be less beefy. Thats a shame, I really liked my old ones.

The stock mats are actually not bad at all. My problem is their lack of coverage, there's a cut out under the gas peddle so that all the dirt that gets knocked off the bottom of my shoe while I'm driving goes straight to the carpet. And the back mats are basically non-existent.

Second the vote for Nifty Catch All's. Very good fit and they are carpeted.

I'm not a huge fan of carpeted mats, they tend to stain too easy. I work with asphalt and there's a lot of red clay around here, so I'm not very gentle on carpet.

I have actually had Husky liners and Weathertechs in my current truck. The Weathertechs have more coverage area and drain out the door better, while I felt the Husky Liners did not move around quite as much. Others will tell you the 'techs move less.

When it comes down to it the Weathertechs look better, cover more, and clean up easier than my Husky liners did. My vote is for the 'techs.

Techs. Got some for my mother's SUV and they look great. I did not have good luck with Husky for my 07, they never seemed to fit right and started to warp.

ok, so the general opinion seems to be go with the weathertechs, so I'll go with that. Now the next question...black to match the carpet or grey to mach the leather?

I was looking into getting the Husky Weather Beaters for my Silverado. They look like they are made better/heavier than the Husky's with the diamond plate type pattern. Anybody have experience wit hthe weather beaters? The weathertech liners are expensive and don't really look different than the Husky's.

According their websites, the Weathertechs are $20 more but have more coverage in the back on a crew cab/ext cab. (comparing prices on front and back set)
