2011 Ltz Questions

Hello i just bought a 2011 silverado ltz 4wd 3 weeks ago only have 2000 kms on it and im getting a clunk from the rear of the truck, i have found where the noise is coming from its on the rear right leaf spring, its the top leaf moving side to side in a metal clip toward the front of the spring with the rubber bushing in it that holds the pack together. My question is there something wrong with it like if it wasnt pressed in tight enough to the springs to hold it from moving back and forth? the left side doesnt seem to be doing it and i notice it when pulling into a driveway thats at a different angle than the road. Also my truck says silverado series on either side of the top of the hood and today the corners on both of these decals pealed up when i was using the pressure washer and i didnt even spray directly on them, should they be under the clear coat? not very impressed for how long i have had it. Other than that i like the truck alot, still getting used to the 6speed transmission, it acts alot different than my 02 silverado lt did.

My truck doesn't make any noise. Some spring packs are louder than others and GM makes insulators that can help reduce the noise the springs make. If there's something wrong, the dealer is there for a reason. I'd take it to them and show them what you found. I'm sure they'll take care of you :)

Those insulators have been obsolete since about 05. If you find any being sold they are pricey

I took mine in for this noise and they greased all the spring contact points.

They originally did that to mine and bythe time I got home (5 miles) the noise was back

Seems to me like inconsistent quality control during spring installation. If the spring itself was defective, then every truck would have this problem.

it seems like if i pressed that clip in tighter to the leafs, there wouldnt be the gap there for it to make the noise, but i assume they probably need a little room for movement as well. I know grease would only be a temporary fix for it.
