hello everyone i have a question about what is the optimal motor oil for my 2004 yukon slt, it has 130000k miles on it.

i have been using castrol gtx10w30 should i continue with this oil or should i step up to the high mileage.

i live in texas (very hot weather) and i usually just drive my yukon over the weekend or long trips (once a year).

thanks in advance for any advice...

If it ain't burning or leaking oil... Leave well enough alone..... Keep doing as you've been doing. Period. End of story.

Everybody has there flavor, id say go Mobil1 synthetic 5/30 or the high mileage 5/30

ive been using the fuel economy 5/20 and/or 5/30 and saw slight improvment

no it's not leaking or burning oil i just wanted to make sure, since the guy at walmart suggested the high mileage.

but my truck runs great as it is.

thank you very much for all your input guys, i greatly appreciated.

I've never ran high mileage in any beater, semi-nice car gone old, or my new truck which is approaching high miles, IMO its a money grab, like other say just keep running what your running. Just change that oil on a good schedule!
