First off, Hello everybody! My name is Matt, and I live in Ocala, Florida. I'm brand-spanking new to this on-line community, so if I break any rules of etiquette, sorry ahead of time.

I realize that it isn't cool to start off asking for help, but here it goes anyway. I've been trying to search the site to find the answers to my question, but I can't find it. I have a 2006 Suburban 1500 LS 4x4. A couple of days ago, the check engine light came on. I just had my first chance to hook up my obd II code reader to it to see what's up, and get this, the code reader won't connect to the truck! I tried it with the key on, engine off - didn't work. Tried it with key on engine on - didn't work. Does anybody know if there is a procedure that you have to go through to get the truck to talk to the code reader? I know that the reader is working fine, because after it failed to connect, I hooked it up to my 2005 pontiac grand-prix gtp and it worked just fine. I'm stumped! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Oh, BTW, the code reader is a Cen-Tech model 98614 if that matters to anybody.

Welcome to the site.

For the code reader, it doesn't seem to be getting power from the truck. I'd check for a blow fuse. Thats the most common issue that happens when code readers or handheld programmers get hooked up and don't read.
